Next we went to Powell's Books, a bookshop that's like a block long, two levels, and overall massive. I have a massive backlog of books, so I only bought one - The One and Only Ivan - but the girls bought a good few. After Powell's we went to get lunch. ... I have seen. Depressing, it is so poor.

It will take a few days to acclimate -- to snow. Unpacking, laundry, mail, visiting with the kids and grandkids. As the days go by, I will reread our blog and do some editing. Many of the pictures need more detailed descriptions. Then -- post it to Trip Advisor and have the blog made into a book! Easy way to make a photo album.

... horizon but we drove and drove and drove and drove to finally reach it. The desert is completely flat so you could see things far off in the distance, but it took forever to reach them. We made it to Salt Lake City in time to make dinner and for Morgan and I to get some much needed retail therapy. Yes!

... we did. Utah has a reputation for big game , and this hike didn't disappoint. A fellow hiker tipped us off to a moose cow and calf feeding in a wet, willowy draw near a pond. We kept our distance as mother moose have a reputation for being crabby, but it was exciting and even the kids could see them. We finished the hike at Snowbird's Oktoberfest....how perfect is that?
