My last two days in Tenerife

... group was on Teide, so we really needed to bring warm things in order to survive in the cold mountains. We got dinner in this quaint restaurant (which was in no way big enough for all of us, but I appreciated it), and then we took the windy, terrifying uphill trip to an area near the observatory we had visited earlier in the trip. We got to take some AMAZING photos of La Orotava from the top, and the "sea of clouds" looked stunning in the night sky. In addition, the night sky has ...

... before. We arrived at the unit at about 8:15 as we always do, and we spent about 45 minutes in the morning meeting where all the doctors gather together to discuss various patients and particularly challenging cases. Having feed our minds and bodies it was time to explore before the heat of the day hit the low 30' degree. Hopping onto a local bus we headed north for about an hour; the coastline is fascinating following the ups and downs of the steep foothills, crossing huge deep dry gullies carved over centuries by torrential waters. The journey tends to zigzag to ...

    Week3---WEEKEND---week4

A travel blog entry by btfreder on Jun 11, 2014

... fourth weekend! I got burned pretty badly on every part of my body, and I'm just now beginning to peel all that skin away, but it was so worth it. We only have one more weekend here before we all go our separate ways, so I'm really thankful that I got to have a great one with my friends. It's so crazy to think that two weeks from now, I won't even be here anymore! I'm dreading leaving the island, but I also can't wait to see my girlfriend and family again. Here's to an awesome weekend!
