... for what felt like an eternity but was probably much shorter, our wonderful beach neighbors helped him back.

After the beach we took a scenic drive through the Gulf Shores National Seashore while the kids sacked out in the car. Then dinner and a great fireworks show on the bay! Great day in Florida and we're excited to get to Nora Carolina to see the Murphys tomorrow!

The parade ground of Pickens is half-filled with a huge concrete gun battery that was added in 1898 after it became clear that the new technology on ships had made the old brick batteries obsolete.
