... his friends got together and decided one afternoon - to march themselves down there as well . . And then, he felt a firm hand on his shoulder, pulling him aside . . It was the best friend of his father, who didn't think this was a proper activity for a child of his age . .. So - he actually never experienced it firsthand . . Arnold says that this activity kept on happening for days upon days. It spread to other cities and eventually things got out of hand. There ...

Thousand Buddha Mountain Jinan

We went to Thousand-Buddha Hill (Qianfoshan) today. Many steps to climb to see several temples, including the huge Xingguochan Temple, the beautiful Maitreya Buddha and the lying Buddha with a Swastika on his chest, and a cave of 130 buddha statues.

We later found out that there is also Thousand Buddha Cliff which is a different place, 35 km away from Jinan with more Buddhas carved along a 35m wall.

We then went to Yinhuchi Jie (Muslim Food Street).

There are 22 temples dotted around the mountain, and several hundred steps to climb to the summit. We got a bus halfway and then got a cable car, but still climbed steps up to the temples at the summit. As we arrived the summit was covered in fog ...

Will and I arrived in Jinan for Qing Ming (Tomb Sweeping) weekend break. We went to the Park which is where the Baotu Spring originates and had a wander around. It was quite cold and polluted, unlike Ningbo yesterday when it had been very warm and sunny.

Had a pizza in a lovely German restaurant by the river.

... band but there will need to be a refocus to get back to the quality of the Dalian gig. There is no concert tomorrow (Saturday) so we have 48 hours to get battle ready again. We have our first train experience tomorrow. We have heard that they can be quite an 'experience' so I guess we'll just have to wait and see. Thinking in might be tough to stream the Rugby but we'll give it a good nudge. Having a fabulous time. Thanks for reading ...
