... has just started too, so it;s not too intimidating. She's comically called Me-Young (phonetic spelling). I'm just waiting for her sisters Me-Too-Young and Me-Love-You-Long-Time to start!<br><br>All in all it's been a good couple of weeks. things are settling down now and I'm getting used to Korea and it's quirks - I've opened up my bank acount now and got the cashcard and PIN over the counter on the day, so no waiting ten days for the PIN and then another five for the card ...
Ulsan, Ulsan, Korea Rep. jonathanholt... to have come and found out that that's what it was. For an observatory, I would have at least thought it'd be open at night or something, but nope, it was purely for show during the day. It was still quite impressive that Korea had the scientific know how back then to be able to do that (actually, they do seem a rather advanced civilisation with quite a strong emphasis in science). <br><br>Having been a bit disappointed, we made our way to the ...
Gyeongju, North Gyeongsang, Korea Rep. teamrocket8... for exploring the sights for the day was impossible since the rental shops did not give out bikes on rainy days. We were glad that they didn't afterwards since the rain increased gradually that day and the experience on the bike wouldn't have been very pleasant on hindsight. We took a local bus instead to get to Bulguksa Temple. By the time we arrived the rain was quite heavy, so our first action was to buy us an umbrella to get ...
Gyeongju, North Gyeongsang, Korea Rep. birkborkasson... the word 'clap' and ask her to name the it. It's childish, and some might say cruel, but it's fun and a harmless way for me to one over on the kids without them bursting into tears!<br><br>So this weekend I went up to Seoul to visit my friend Emma and attend a free Asian Music festiavl. Some of the biggest K-pop bands were performing, namely Big Bang and Girls Generation. An amazing experience that ...
Gyeongju, North Gyeongsang, Korea Rep. clemandpo... with heaps of shops, and a small stream that goes along it. This place looks amazing at night! So I saw the city.. stopped for dinner at this nice restaurant and had saschimi (a famous Korean fish dish) which was very tasty! Pohang was a really nice place to visit.. it seemed a lot cleaner than anywhere I've ever been! This place was something else. So I stayed the night in this nice hotel, then caught the train the next day back to Seoul!
Pohang, Korea Rep. bennn2009... for godt.
Gyeongju, Korea Rep. wish... vahan tylsalta kun ei meille oikeen tapahdu mitaan ihan kummallista vaikka paljon katellaankin ymparillemme. Sori vaan. :) N Howdy in English too :) Gyeongju, been there seen it. Small town with lively centre which we found accidently when returning from the park. The main attractions are the royal tombs. They're like sleight hills if they would be capped with snow. See the pics and you know what I mean. We took ...
Gyeongju, Korea Rep. norsu... of the cheap RTW fares from there, but the civil unrest put that idea to rest, as CX canceled flights to Colombo. The next cheapest, reasonable option was Tokyo, so we will fly there, via Taipei with Cathay Pacific (CX) to collect some extra miles.
Ulsan, Korea Rep. johnkennett... it. She pretty much called them and told them to come pick up the poor foreigners waiting in the sun! About 15 minutes later a van showed up and took us out to the caves. We were met by a nice man who proceeded to be a tour guide for the rest of the day! He has worked at the caves for about 20 years and so he was very helpful. We rode a boat into the caves and then walked around for a bit. It was pretty strange... almost no amethyst these days but lots of ...
