... Park named after John James Audubon who was an ornithologist. There were many banners of welcome on the street lights. Each banner depicted a different species of birdlife. Also there were many small sculptures of birds on the pavements.

Bill took photos of the big old rusty iron train bridge over the Ohio River and guess what I hear that train a comin’…. All 85 carriages of it. The next train we saw, the Indianna Southern, only had 25 carriages.

... filled our fresh water tank 1/3 of the way full (about 17 gallons). We noticed that when we turned on our electric water pump, it stayed on consistently. That is not good! So we turned it on only when we needed. Unfortunately, I didn't realize that I had left the outside shower valve on. So when we turned the pump on, we pumped water through the shower to the ground. That was not a big deal as we had plenty of water for the toilet. But ...

... and to check the car. It is also a good place to just get out and stretch. When we are driving it is important to remember that you are now 50 feet long, so passing is a little bit trickier. Also, when turning or looking for parking spaces in a mall need more consideration. However, my ever fearless husband can handle this puppy like a race car going through the streets of Rome!

We got up at 7:15 AM today but got started around 8:30 AM. Today was the last day of our hike so our packs felt lighter and we didn't fill up our water bladders. We had figured, from the map, the car was 9 miles away and that we could drop pack at the car before finishing the last 4 miles.
