... and impressive. There were some amazing photographs of it arriving over New York piggybacked to a jumbo jet. We went back on deck to admire planes including a Phantom, a stealth Blackbird and my favourite, the F14 Tomcat. By now it was nearly 2pm. We were ready for lunch, so decided to skip the submarine (USS Growler), and Concorde at the end of the pier. Walked about a mile back, and ...

... Park again, getting a 'dirty water hotdog' along the way from a street vendor. The kids then ran around and played in the park for a while expending some energy. ... busy but not too busy and we were very quickly taken to a table. Much to our delight it overlooked the Hershey's side of Time Square. Lucy had ravioli whist I has a pizza. This, added to the mushroom starter; we had filled up in no time. Despite this, Lucy still insisted on having dessert which we both couldn't quite finish. After we vacated the restaurant, we decided to do a quick lap of Times Square to walk off our meal. Times Square is full ...

After a shower and a free muffin from the breakfast bar downstairs, I was out the door by 7.30am to catch a cab to the Empire State Building (I figured a 25 minute walk would put me to the back of a long line after the 8am first elevator). After a short queue into security, I was straight into the high speed elevator to the 86th floor, almost a quarter mile above Manhattan's streets. What an amazing view. You could stay up there for days and ...
