... the time I was planning to be in Vietnam is during their Tet. For those of you who recall learning about the Vietnam War and the Tet Offensive in high school, Tet is the Vietnamese New Year, and it lasts about nine days. It's their most important holiday, and it is very heavy on family reunions and such; apparently a lot of businesses and offices shut down and the price of goods and services increases during this period. ... stuck at the hotel unless you took a cab. We have done other tours and enjoyed being able to explore the cities on our own to find quaint places to dine. It wasn't happening this time. But at least we knew all of this ahead of time. Others in the group were surprised at all of the added costs and blamed Trafalgar. The wonderful tour guide informed the group that we should have been aware of this as it was listed as a cost saver trip with details explained ...

      ... is covered with houses.

Surprisingly, the very slow flowing wide rivers are very busy with barge traffic, sightseeing riverboats, there’s even a Port Authority????? – we’re in the mountains!!!

There are lots of huge, massive, grand, opulent churches.

      Things we Learned:

Several of the world’s travel magazines have designated Pittsburgh among the top 10 ...
