    Weather is a broken record, cloudy with a threat of rain. About an 80% threat of rain this afternoon. So we made plans for the morning.

    First, we go downtown to Bayou Bend Collections and Gardens. It was the home of the daughter and sons of the first Texas native governor. His last name was Hogg. The sons were Michael, William, and James. The daughter was given a family name, Ima. Our guide on the tour ...

    ... for this weekend's Art Car Parade in Houston. This is the 28th year of the biggest art car parade in the world - they will have 300 of these cars in the parade tomorrow.

    There were cars all decorated, performance artists and it seemed like everybody was in costume. We could not go in without purchasing wristbands, but we sat on a bench on the terrace and watched the merrymaking.

    ... we pulled into the turn lane. There were 3 lanes going into the center and only one gate open. They need help here!! Twenty minutes later we got through the gate to the parking lot. There were lots of school groups, most very well behaved. It was the kids with families that seemed to run everywhere like wild children. Oh well!
