Comfort Suites Texarkana

... who did not have a 30A/50A cable to connect his 30A 5th wheel: it was time to give away a cable that we did not need anymore, to Rick's delight. We finally, found our way to KOA Texarkana, TX. It's often difficult to detect the level of quality of a campground from books and, naturally, their owners usually describe their spot as the next best place to perfection. I have the best navigator anyway.

Marriott hotels are always very good. Unfortunately, our room had the smell of sewage. We didn't complain, though I guess we should have called it to their attention. Après quelques 280 milles nous voici à Texarkana, au Texas; il y a aussi un Texarkana, Arkansas. Un front froid nous a réservé des coups de vent qui nous ont amenés à décider de passer la nuit à Little Rock, Arkansas. Mais il n'y avait aucun site suffisamment long pour le bolide et le véhicule. We have finally made it to Texas and Hurricane IKE has now begun to affect us in a bad way. Looking around we have seen trees down and some damage. But until this morning we where not directly affected. Until that is we went to StarBucks and they were OUT of WHITE CHOCOLATE MOCHA. Other than that it is 79 Degrees and not a cloud in this BIG BIG sky. Once we hit Greenville, Tx the roads got very rough.

We awoke to blue sky and it was already feeling hot. By the time we left the site around 11am, it was very hot indeed. We got back out onto the main road and headed south to Paris where we found the library. We're very conscious that the blog hasn't been uploaded for a couple of weeks and so planned to spend a few hours doing that today. Unfortunately they wanted $5 for us to use the internet for longer than 30 minutes so we skipped on that idea.

Now as the weather was miserable i had to drive with the roof up.Its been about 8 days since i had to drive like this and was it the most boring drive. The roads were completely straight. ... waterfalls and a nice squirrel lounging on the walkway who allowed me within 6 feet to get some cool pictures. Leaving Garvan, we headed to Gulpha Gorge campground which was beautiful. We camped next to a creekbed and listened to the water running and crickets chirping as we fell asleep. We had a few problems in the process of making dinner. ... breakfast at the Jet Center, we flew on to Mobile, Alabama where we spent the night. Then....back home to big T-Town, home and our dogs!
