Long day! Worked from home and cleaned up around the house so it was all organized for Randall. The headed to the airport was thru security in less than 30 mins. It was crazy fast. Then sat down to continue working and then to do some people watching.... That was fun! You see all sorts of things at the airport. Shaloma was so tired ... 2 hours of sleep. Not sure how she does it. We ended up sitting by each other on the plane as we each had a empty seat and a couple boarded and there ...

Houston, we're not Kennedy Space Center

A travel blog entry by jason934 on Oct 05, 2015

Our main reason for being in Houston was to visit the Johnson Space Center (JSC). We arrived at 10am and got a spot right by the entrance, because there were not many people there. We immediately jumped on the site tour. First stop was the actual ground control center used for the 60s to 80s rocket launches. The current ground control center is one floor down. Second stop on the tour was a building where they are developing vehicles and ...

Another drive today, this time to Seabrook which is 20 minutes south of Houston. It was a 4 hour drive and we were surprised by the amount of greenery and trees around during the drive. We expected more sparse areas, desert and brown. The drive took us right through Houston, and it got a little hairy driving through it because of some crazy drivers. Fortunately ...

Tami and I started our festive day by standing in a long line to get our bibs to run in a 5K that benefitted "Wounded Warriors". We were behind two girls whose biggest issue in life was to fashion American flags into headbands. Poor dumb girls! After finishing the run, more of a jog actually, we walked to a restaurant -"Merchants" and had a nice breakfast. We had our taste buds ready for some of their peach cobbler, but were told, not very nicely, it isn't available until later in ...

... had crab dip with cream cheese and Parmesan which you ate with tortilla chips (home made), hot balls of fire which were jalapeño cream cheese balls with hot tomato sauce and calamari with a ranch dressing. We just had a coke and we headed across to the oil rig which was pretty good to see. Andrews bag though but what was cool was that we saw a real oil rig come into port. It was a floating rig brought in by tug boats and one bloke that worked at the Oil Rig Museum said ...
