... a beautiful forest on a lakeside. Had ramen noodles and ham salad sandwiches for dinner. Dreaming of last night's gumbo :-) I can hear all of the frogs and insects which is like music to my ears after the hustle and bustle of traffic. Camp site is set up differently here, appeared nicer with a place that seems clearer and less earthy for tent set-up, but then discovered that the bathrooms were out of order, so had to walk 10 mins to get to the next one. ...

This is a small 2 lane highway to nowhere. Roswell, The Very Large Array, Valley of the Fires and the Painted Desert are accessible from this road.

... Repairs will have to be made on the road, because I have to be in Washington, DC, by the end of the week. Apart from the leak everything seems to be okay, as Lacey, my dog, and I pull away with waves to a couple of neighbors.

We hit I-20... my mind has been in overdrive. "What have I forgotten?" It usually comes to ...

... garden. Many of the beds were completely empty of rose plants. Others were almost overrun with weeds. In others the rose bushes were overgrown and leggy. Grass clippings were on the sidewalks which were often cracked and chipped. There were gardens identified as test gardens that had no plants.

Interesting note: Winston-Salem Rose Society has ...
