    We arrived at Convict Lake on Sunday afternoon. Traffic was light and the 350 mile trip took us about 8 hours (Roz driving all but about 2 hours). We stopped for lunch at one of our favorite spots, the Ranch House Cafe in Olancha.

    This is a rustic cafe on the side of 395 with shade trees covering parking on each side of the road. It is literally in the middle of nowhere, but it always busy with cars, RVs, motorcycles and trucks ...

    ... a 5 mile walk then spent the day laying on the beach, and checking out the township of Laguna. We booked flights to Mexico, $115 each for Bree, Steph, Matt and I from San Antonio.
