... they race on Sunday. That gets repeated each week during the racing season.

Both of the crew guys were former college football players and were pretty big dudes. I guess they need to be since each tire and wheel setup weighs between 45 and 85 pounds. They move them around like they were bags of popcorn.

Pits were open during the race. We got down there through the tunnel before the green flag. We were right there with the tires, and gas cans, and the BIG GAS CAN MEN with ...

Midday, our friend Gary (works at Hendrick's) called and said come over for a tour. Thanks to him we got the " up close and personal " tour of the race shops for the 24, 5, 88, 48. Interesting seeing behinds the scenes work that goes into producing championship cars. Everyone there was friendly. We spent about 90 min. there. Back to camp and Kitty and Bobby took off ...

I'm not sure what day it is today. I think it's our sixth ride day? Maybe? We rode from Chapel Hill to Winston-Salem; it was 85-ish miles. Today was a good day. It was long and hard but it was a good day. I got my first flat tire! So that's big news. I was with a group of like ten other people and we were playing in the hay and I think my tired snagged a thorn or something. Mary, one of our group leaders, helped me change it. So that was a fun experience. We had a long lunch in the ...
