    Johnnie and I arrived at the airport and said our goodbyes to family. We made it through check in and security in record time and have lots of time to spare.     The joys of air travel continue to expand, as Lufthansa has now challenged American carriers' dominance in the "worst service in the air" sweepstakes. Rebecca made reservations with United Airlines months ago for herself, Benjamin, and me to fly from RDU to Chicago on a UAL-operated flight and from Chicago to Frankfurt on a Lufthansa-operated flight.
