    So today was a roller coaster - lots of ups and downs. It started out great. We left Chicago and in 2 and a half hours or so, we were in Madison, Wisconsin. I was shocked by how much I loved Madison. It was such a nice place to stop and spend some time. We ate breakfast at an awesome little place called Mickie's.     ... after it and we took it. It turns out that we stopped at "Castle Rock". This area used to be a glacial lake and Castle Rock used to be an island in that lake. This area is part of Camp Williams which is known as the birthplace of the famous 32nd Red Arrow Division of the National Guard.

    ... was a brilliant and very gifted architect, he was a total, and egotistical jerk. We did not buy anything in the very pricy gift shop, but I did pay an extra $5.00 for the privilege of taking photos inside the house. Oooh la la. It was worth it as I love to take pictures and I love architecture. After the tour, we got back under way to finish the over 6 hours to St. Paul.     ... late as we were able to get ahold of them.
    Got online to secure tickets for our crossing on the 19th but the noon crossing was all sold out. Now what to do. Going up north would take us to long and going south would involve the Windy City --Chicago, Us country folks don't like to deal with the kind of drivers in the larger cities. What to do ?

    • friendly reminders like "bring your passport"
    • instructions for changing planes in Tokyo
    • steps for getting thru immigration & customs in Bangkok when you are totally exhausted from the lengthy trip
