Whoopee! We're off to Vegas through scrubby desert land with mile after mile of mountains flanking our route. We stop overnight in Palm Springs in a cute boutique b and b with quirky décor and only a few rooms all arranged around a pool. We’re welcomed with sweet treats and a cocktail. We stood (in shade, thankfully) for another half an hour or so watching the gigantic stadium clock count down and having sweaty idiots try and rush past us to get closer to the gate (that wasn't open...). The day ended with one hell of a thunder storm. Phoenix is really sprawling but surrounded on all sides by mountains so when the lightening started it was a real showstopper. Sheet lightening all around us with torrential rain - and it was still hot!
