12.25 We are sitting in Crackerbarrel on highway 24, en route to St Louis. It's a down homey restaraunt chain, big on rocking chairs, meatloaf, chicken and turnip greens type stuff. It's a skillfully packaged old timey menu. Bev fell over last night, slipping on the bathroom wet floor and has hurt her back so she is moving very gingerly poor baby. The Opry has been a country institution since 1925 when it first appeared on radio. It's still simulcast live on your am ...

Hello again Interesting time in Washington. Even in Sept it was chock full of tourists, thousands and thousands of us, more tour busses from out of town in view at any given time than I have seen in my entire life, five or six local tour companies with busses coming by every half hour, people all over the place. Successfully used the train to get to and from downtown, took a four hour tour on a trolley type bus and walked a ...

... city. Several enjoyable sites included Capitol Hill, the Parthenon and the "American Pickers" American Archeology store which housed some of the duo's finds including an old Indian Motorcycle. Centennial Park is home to the world's only full sized replica of the Greek Parthenon. The columns are absolutely massive! A building meant to protect the Goddess ...
