December 18: arrive in Buenos Aires in a.m., Check into Alvear Palace Hotel in the Recoleta District, which is very close to where Eva Peron is buried and is supposed to be a very nice neighborhood. Hopefully we can check into the hotel early and get some rest. The hotel is supposed to be fantastic -- we'll see.

... very familiar and quite boring. I actually considered cutting east and then up through Louisville and then the back way past Cincinnati and the Ohio river but I was just ready to get home.
I arrived safely at my house around 3:30. I made dinner plans with Mike, unloaded the bike and took a long hot shower.
... the 7:40 showing of Gravity (in 3-D no less, told you I was pulling out all the stops), then ran across the street to a restaurant and asked them if I could get dinner in under 30 minutes. Mission accomplished! (See what I did there? It's a movie about space, and I said, "Mission Accomplished." Never mind.) The movie was very entertaining.
I can't wait to get home tomorrow!
