The Adventure to The Last Frontier Has Ended!
We took a red eye out of Anchorage . . . transferred in MSP . . . and Pat ended in DTW. Nick went on to MQT. Bags and people all arrived on time, a little tattered but with lots of lifetime memories. Thanks for following the blog!!

Travel Day - Out
... a difference in the weight!! All was well in a few minutes and the sky was broken clouds most of the way. The Land of 10,000 Lakes gave way to prairie, then rolling hills, then mountains, some with snow, then lots of snow. Pretty clouded over as we approached Anchorage where is was raining.
Landing was uneventful, retrieved our bags, found a cart, made our way to the rental car counter and got a Nissan Sentra as our travel wagon!

We're YOUPERS this week in the U.P.!
... of the first things we did here was get in touch with old friends Dave & Pat Mair, and went out for a wonderful dinner with them at "Lagniappe Cajun Cafe" in Marquette. We'll see them again before we leave the area, when another old friend, Jane, is up here visiting with them, too!

The final stop of the journey before we get home
... and through the end of our trip, we've seen a lot of great scenery and many little towns and different people along the way. there is the sad points of the journey, where you not only towns drying up with no industry, but lakes and rivers that are nearly non-existent if at all. again, how quickly the landscapes change.
we'll be happy to never hear another country song about turnip trucks, pork rinds and lost love....
