... I'm not sure why, but that whole process doesn't seem as scary anymore.
I was VERY close to signing up for a volunteer trip to Costa Rica when the Morocco opportunity came my way. After I got back from Morocco, I wanted to make this a reality, so I signed up to volunteer for one week in an orphanage in Costa Rica at the end of February. The program is through (IVHQ) International Volunteer HeadQuarters, and I have heard nothing but positive ...
... My Sisters Keeper based on the Jodi Piccoult book, all she has to say is READ THE BOOK! Ha, ha. We both enjoyed heading off and doing our own thing but we are never disappointed to meet up again.
We stayed in High Cliff State park, on another gigantic lake (Lake Winnebago!) with big gigantic beautiful limestone cliffs that you can walk along and even through. We enjoyed walking through ...
After picking up our cool little Toyota motor we headed up to Green Bay. The Wisconsin countryside is beautiful and made me and Adrian both think respectively of our home countries. I guess it was the farm landscapes. They are beautiful.
We had a nice quiet evening and the next day we went to the wildlife santuary where we saw cute little coyotes, bob cats, a cougar, otters ...
What a trip! I can't believe it is over already! This was such a great experiance! I will treasure this forever. The flight back to the States was uneventful. It was so sad leaving Max. I think we all had tears in our eyes. The line to check in was so long at the Rome airport. And we had our own wing of hte airport for American flights. We laughed - stick the Americans in the corner! Jacob gave us ...

It was nice ride out of Fayette. About 75 miles of two lane road in the pouring rain. It was a fun ride still maintaining 60-65 mph. It was a pretty amazing ride even in the rain. I can only imagine how much more awesome it would have been if it werent raining. Check out the pics.
It rained hard for the first three hours of todays ride. Unforntunatly my feet got soaked ...
Well, I've started this travel blog a little prematurely, but I'm too excited to keep everything quiet. Trisha and I have officially started saving for our world travel adventure which will begin on the 6th of April 2010. Still deciding exactly where to start our trip and how it's all going to work out. All I know is that it WILL happen. 9 months to go. Until then this blog will help me organize my thoughts, ideas and potential travel destinations. Can't wait to get started.
... jumper of a plane. NOT good for me. I really hope this next flight goes better. 9 hours on a plane, not gonna lie, kinda scares me. Floyd has been having a lot of fun with me. We've been exploring the airport. Ok, well there's about another hour before we board.
... everyone enjoyed reading this blog before, during and after our GSE experience in Morocco. Thank you for reading and taking the journey with me! It was great to be able to share my thoughts and photos with everyone at home, as well as friends I made along the way. And I'm glad it made family of other team members glad to see loved ones doing well.
So, au revoire, until next time...I am hoping to use this site again when I go to Costa Rica, inshallah. :)
After spending Friday night and all of 7 hours at the Comfort Inn in Detroit, we landed in Green Bay at 9:30 am on Saturday. I admit it was nice to see all the green in the fields and the farms scattered around before landing. I couldn't believe how cool it felt, as the last day in Casablanca we spent it was probably close to 85. My sister picked me up and drove me to my parents' house, where some of my siblings were celebrating an early Mother's Day. When ...
Green Bay, Wisconsin, United States jmatczak... Jamaica on January 2nd. Well I guess I should begin by telling you that my Christmas break didn't really go as planned. Not at all. I arrived in Wisconsin, happy and content on December 21st, ready to ski and play in the snow. By Friday I was not feeling well because of lower abdominal pain, and the temperatures were in the low 30s and the snow was silently disappearing. Saturday, I woke up feeling even worse. Lower abdominal ...
