    Ok, Week 2...

Day 1 - Saying goodbye to Lincoln City felt sad but we was ready to leave the Pacific and head back into the wilderness. Driving to Eugene went very quickly and once we had checked in we took Kevin G and found ourselves in Corvallis, home of Oregon State University! The town was heaving and we had a gander in some shops to …

We arrived at the track about 9-45am ready for the start at 10am.As we walked to the gate we passed the Eugene Bomb Disposal vehicle outside the Warm-up Track. I don't know whether to feel reassured or frightened! The Heptathlon and Decathlon both started today and there were Aussies in both so we were keen to follow them. Cedric Dubler from Queensland had been to the last Oceania Champs so I know him and he is a great young man. ...

... of the Wall from Game of Thrones. Temperatures immediately plummeted 20 degrees. Though I-5 was clear, snow blanketed the surrounding land. We knew we would have to stop in Eugene for the day. Eugene, home to the University of Oregon, is also a tricky exit to navigate. We could not just get off I-5 and turn into La Quinta. We had to take 105-W into the small downtown area to find our hotel. Lesser traveled roads meant that ...
