The clouds had blown away and it was a pleasant evening.This time we went to the Lounge early and had a glass of wine before taking our seats. Cedric had returned to first place after his Pole Vault, but though he threw a PB in the javelin the Czech competitor threw 10 metres further relegating Cedric to second again.       ... fun, especially the first 5-6 miles. The second half is calmer and a bit wider, and in the afternoons the westerly winds kick in to try and push paddlers back. But the day I paddled the 12 miles (6/28), it was very warm and sunny, and nothing could have made that a bad day on the river--even wind. Next summer I will do that stretch more often and start earlier in the day. We had 3 days of cooler temps and rain my last week in OR, which I actually enjoyed, as I was watching ...
