Fairfield, California, United States stevegarson... spped at which we were getting up the I5 so I decided that it would be easier to pull over into the car pool lane and make some tracks.
Well I must have travelled approx 300m in the lane when the red and blue lights were flasing behind me.
I was instructed to pull over, but against a concrete barrier was not acceptable.....so I had to drive approx 1km and pull up on a dirt patch in the middle a a 10 lane freeway.
Once stopped I jumped out of the car ...

Fairfield, California, United States stevegarsonA lovely day -- with an easy drive out to Sacramento, a good day visiting Sac State (which is a very pretty campus, especially this time of year, with the leaves changing), then an easy drive home. Definitely a long day, and I was exhausted by the end of it, but not a bad one at all.
... experience something close to Marshall law. Unexpectedly there would be a bomb deter squad on the metro, checking everybody's seats with a mirror and metal detector for bombs. There would be troops running down the street. And all the while the people who lived in Delhi that we had grown to trust were telling us "not to let the terrorists win and lock yourself inside" instead they encouraged us to go out to the markets and stay out in the ...
Davis, California, United States heatherandrewis a rather common picture seen on the streets..does the local youth really entertains themselves by spending a whole lot of time to get them up there? only some...most of them are thrown there by experienced drugdealres who are marking their area that way...so no fun...it's all about business... today of course they've moved to their homes which is supposedly protecting them more from the cops... Northern California is well famous for it's marijuana fields ...
Davis, California, United States rambler... pollution standards are not high, I think Thailand has come a long way and hopefully one day they are able to stop practicing slash and burn farming methods (although I was told it's illegal to do it now), have better emissions standards for their vehicles, among other air quality issues, but overall I'd say they are doing ok for still being "3rd World". It was still a wonderful place to visit and I miss it already. For now it's settling back into everyday life ...

Davis, California, United States bennykenny... t make me the designated 'free' internet carrier. I'm wrapping up quite a bit before I leave such as cleaning my room and finishing painting my moms office. I'm going to be picking up a hiking backpack which will most likely end up being an REI one. I still have my REI windbreaker that works wonders that I got my sophmore year.
Davis, California, United States bigfoot2355... part of their trip around the west coast & so we met up with them & they treated us to a burger at Lori's Diner. There seems to be a Lori's diner on every corner but this one had the full works - 1950's décor etc - the Fonz would have been right at home! Lori got quite a bit of our custom over the time we spent in San Francisco, so healthy eating went right out the window - we couldn't resist those hot-diggedy dogs!! The following day we ...
