Yesterday was a bright beautiful, sunny day. A great day to celebrate our Nation's Birthday. We wanted to see the countryside, so we left early and headed out to The Farm at Walnut Creek, a local working Amish farm open to the public.

... it. Fox kept running to the back of the site and up over the little incline.
Sure enough, there are two huge farms with a large open field sitting between them. The sheep were welcoming us, along with the goats, cows and horses. We truly are in farm country.
Hopefully, tomorrow we will get to explore the area with no further interruptions.

Even more interesting, we are right in the middle of Ohio's Amish country. In fact Holmes County, Ohio is the home of the world's largest Amish settlement. We saw our first Amish horse and buggy trotting down the road as we drove up to the RV park.

The packing is finished, we've done a final weather check, located the passports, and we're as ready as we're going to be! We're looking forward to a hot day in the city tomorrow as we check out the new 9/11 Museum, grab some Tasty-D and maybe make our way to Megan's favorite bakery in Chinatown.
