    ... another one up the road that was closed.  We came across a nice surprise when we turned on Route 23 where the last antique stores were....Historic Poole Forge which is a 1700 Iron Master Mansion which is undergoing reconstruction and other structures.  It also has the 1856 covered bridge that cars can drive thru.  The grounds are shady and have picnic tables all around.     ... We saw a bunch of Amish people in Tennessee and Luke kept calling the men "gnomes". So he was super happy. We walked through the barn area and they even had some pretty peacocks. The kids were probably most excited about the Amish candy we got :) Onward to Washington DC! Made it...dinner with an old friend and the kids are fast asleep before 8!     Farming: Most of the farming is dairy cows. Most of the crops grown - alfalfa and corn - are to feed the cows and horses. There are some farms that grow some fruits and veggies for sale at farmers markets. (We saw several apple orchards.)
