          Shopping ... unsuccessfully

A travel blog entry by jason934 on Oct 08, 2015

Our only activity today was an attempt to get the suitcases fuller before we head home in three weeks. We went to many stores over 6 hours and didn't get much at all, despite trying on lots of clothes. The day was pretty warm but it got overcast so the day was comfortable despite being in the late 80s. For lunch we had Taco Bell and for dinner we had ...

          Underground caves and snake farm

... In the first caves there were no formations on the ceiling because the bats had left oils and dirt. The caves were awesome. Highlight of the second caves was when they turned out the lights for one minute and we were in total darkness. It was really cool being so dark that you couldn't see even your hand in front of your face. The 'fried egg' formations were cool and there was a lost bat in the first ...

... CFs of interchanges. On the last one we missed the first two exits because they came up super fast and folks seem to like sitting in people's blind spots. Conveniently, though, the exit we did get caused us to drive directly past the Alamo!

          Made it safely to Texas..
Clearly we have two opposite kids.. Mia fell in love with New York and the city is right up her ally.. Luke on the other hand loves Texas and the open space. He does not miss all the taxis and subway rides.. and far less walking! And he is getting the Texas lingo and drawl!
We introduced Mia to where she spent her first three months of her life.. to be honest, I think she would ...

... thunder and lightning display. The thunder was really loud and it made me jump a few times.

We ended up going to the mall (I didn't buy anything) and then the American institution of Hooters Restaurant for dinner. I can now check that off my list.

Not much else to report today, tomorrow is better weather so exploring we will go.
