South Bend is stunning, a university town about 200 kms from Chicago on a big river. It had been snowing all day and they had about 4 inches on the ground. On the recommendation of the B&B we went to the pub 3 blocks away were they had live music. We wandered down in the snow and picked a prime spot at the bar to watch the entertainment. I have one observation, no-one really drinks, I have not seen any-one ...

Later in the day we will chat with a youngish man born in Michigan, left Michigan, hates Michigan. Well-to-do-retired-General-Motors executive. Lives in Colorado. Unemployed taxpayers provide him with a pension. Back for the Holidays. Cannot wait to leave.

... a Bed and Breakfast. This Victorian converted home was festively decorated for the holidays, leaving no surface unadorned. Our room, the Maid's Room, was filled with old radios, collected by the owner's father. We enjoyed a dinner at Chesapeake Seafood House. Even though we arrived prior to 6 pm, we waited for a table, a clear indication that this restaurant was a favorite of the locals.
... the city. Together, we visited the World's Largest Chocolate Store, the old Studebaker factory and a nice walk to and along the St. Joseph River downtown.
The next day, with our RV in the repair shop, we made the most of our homeless time bouncing back and forth between Indiana and Michigan geocaching. Fun!
Geneva-On-The-Lake, Ohio is our next stop.

Tomorrow we are heading for Land Between the Lakes outside of Paducah, Kentucky. There is a big BBQ festival going on in downtown Paducah next week. We attended this festival a couple of years ago and sampled some great food. BBQ contestant from all over the world come to compete and the food is great.
