      ... the pilots seemed to be able to manage everything well.

      All I am trying to say that the weather has been bad in Jakarta at least since Saturday, December 27. So, it is also possible that the bad weather story in Surabaya is true since. The area near the hotel where we stayed at in Jakarta was flooded due to the rain falling almost non-stop. Please pray for the passengers, flight crews, and the families left at home and surrender everything to the Almighty ...

      ... off the far left corner of the runway, I was made to exit to the right and taxi a little over 3 miles (per my GPS) to get to our parking spot.

      Speaking of parking, our claim to fame this year is that we are in the very last row on the west side of the airport, which also means we will be a little farther from the loudspeakers in the morning when the traditional 7 AM yodeling wakeup call starts.
