    ... to Winthrop Harbor, IL, on Saturday, October 25th, to make the drive through Chicago as easy as possible. But being so close to home we decided to go all the way on Friday, and we had the 'pleasure' of spending several hours in heavy traffic.

    ... and Mrs. B. at the Colonial Cafe for our Ice Cream Theme: Scoops with the Masters. The ice cream was amazing and the conversation was just as stimulating. It was fun to talk Kyukido history, philosophy, and training with these two great minds. We may have reached our hotel later than planned that night but stops like these are what vacation is all about -- and it assured a good night's sleep for the little ...

    As of last week I have been accepted to teach abroad in China for an entire year starting this February 2015 with CIEE (Council on International Education and Exchange)! I cannot wait to see what I can offer the other side of the world and vise versa :) I won't be updating my blog much before I leave, but will try to keep up to date once I start my adventure on the other side of the world. I will ideally being doing at least 2 entires a week...fingers crossed.

    ... fire he went and bought up a whole bunch of the land cheap. People thought he was nuts, that Chicago would never rebuilt. He ended up owning and eventually selling, most of the land which is now the Chicago Loop. But he only lived in his palace for 6 years before he died. Now it has been turned into 6 luxury condos.

    ... that we covered basic life necessities by stealing things from McDonald’s. Since it was a hassle keeping things cold in the cooler all the time we stole non-dairy coffee creamers. We never purchased water and just filled water containers at the soda fountains. McDonald’s is even kind enough to filter and chill the water :) This is also where we stocked up our napkin supply, sugar, honey and used their free wifi to make ...
