    ... were happy to be able to chill in the car so early in the morning. We headed to Hot Springs and arrived bright and early. After breakfast we explored Hot Springs National Park. The boys loved the brief hike we took and thought that the old bath house was really cool.

    In the morning we are off to Eureka Springs, by way of Arkansas Scenic Route 7. Looking forward to some great scenery, and maybe a little cave exploration along the way.

    I expected today to be quiet and uneventful. Thought I was being clever, and checked the weather in Tuscaloosa and Hot Springs before we left. Both had little or no rain in the forecast for today. So I went ahead and booked us into the Alpine Inn for 2 nights and set out what was expected to be a long but boring journey.     ... association with the gangsters of late 1800s to mid 1990s. Today you can see the beautiful architecture of the bath houses, two of which are still functioning. We also visited the Mountain Tower where you can see aerial views of the surrounding area.
