My scheduled flight to Shanghai was delayed which would make me miss my flight to Bangkok. So working all the other options - found a way to go through Beijing to make it there as scheduled.
Glad I was flying first class - the staff in the lounge was able to pull it off. They even went and retagged my checked bag to the correct flights.
... ahead of me. Something I had never seen before was an exhibit on soil. The exhibit makes you appear to shrink and move under ground with the perspective of a bug. Lots of info on bugs,roots, burrows, fungi and other stuff I trod over daily. Lots of other exhibits on gems, Egypt, fossils, and many others we never got to. Rather than "commute home" in Lake Shore Drive rush hour ...
I've found the most amazing place on earth.
There's a reason it's called GREAT America.
I can now officially say I've ridden rollercoasters forwards,
backwards, sitting down, lying on my stomach, standing
(yes, as in standing up!), and in complete darkness.
I also survived the oh-so-adequately named 'Mega Wedgie',
a 80 degree free fall waterslide where ...
... There are going to be so many adventures this summer. And there are going to be days where I'm bored out of my mind. I hope I get a decent amount of work along the way. Maybe I'll even figure out what I want to do in the future. Maybe. I know I'll miss Chicago and my friends here. But I also get to visit other people I love all around the country. And I'll be back here for a visit in a few short weeks. Hopefully I'll already have fantastic stories to ...
