... with modern art. The family that owns the mall also owns one of the largest collections of modern art in the country, so they filled the building with huge pieces that kids can walk right up to, touch and even play around. John's puppet shows were a lot of fun, especially his Scrooge show, where he basically gets to make fun of kids for a while. Sounds like my kind of show ...

We spent the rest of the weekend watching several episodes of Dexter while Tommy upgraded my computer for this trip. Tyler was acting crazy as usual just running around. The next stop will be in Wichita to see the family and eats lots of Thanksgiving goodies.

Dallas, Texas, United States adamsprincesPacking for a one-month trip overseas in generally one climate came quite easy after having to utilize the same packing gear for a trip 6x as long and with many varied climates earlier this year. With my 70-liter pack and a daypack fully loaded, and with two suitcases full of food, clothing and the like requested by my friends at ACA in India in tow, I was ready to head off to Bangalore via London!

American Airlines nearly ruins my trip....my original flight which was supposed to leave at 10:10am never leaves the ground....at 11:45am...AA has another flight bound for Tokyo and because I have carry-on luggage only, I'm allowed to board the flight and make it to Tokyo with 40 minutes to change planes and airlines ( Japan Air, they rock!!) . American Airlines...never again you *******s.
Dallas, Texas, United States rone_9In Dallas we found our connecting gate and grabbed some food. It is a good thing we did as
there was no food served on the flight to Miami. I made a couple of shots from the plane as we approached DFW.
... today, we checked into our dorm rooms (I had a large room sharing with 2 or 3 other students (as I didn't actually journal this part of the journey, I don't really remember who or how many). We had a private bath and minimal accomodations, but didn't really need anything other than a place to sleep, bathe, dress, and store our belongings, so it was perfect. We had a buffet dinner in the Marvin Center Cafeteria and then had a 3-hour orientation meeting in Funger Hall.
