    ... and Women's Forum Stae Park outlook near Corbett. We drove into NE Portland and eventually went to Trader Joes for a few goodies for Erik and Kara. We wanted a beer and would you believe the closest Pub was Migration...we were actually very close to the Laurelhurst area where the BNB is situated.     ... at the higher areas at the moment. Some people were going up to ski and snowboard others were mountain biking on the lower sections of the resort. We took some pictures and found some snow that had fallen or was made by a snow machine. Kim got cranky when I threw my first snowball even tho she told me not to do it.     ... We then had to cross two lanes of traffic to scramble up another dusty track and at this point we decided to call it a day. We have learnt in this pioneering country what it is to endure hardship (over-large portions and cheery enquiries about the royal family) and we had expected to suffer after our escape from the tour bus, but this was our holiday dammit! It was back to the hotel for a cup of tea and freshly-baked cookies provided gratis by our friendly American hosts.
