    Great Place to Stay

I have really enjoyed my stay at this hotel so far. It is not the most lavish by any means, but the staff is very friendly (especially Dantise) and the rooms are very clean and comfortable. They offer free breakfast and wifi. All in all, it was exactly what I wanted.

Loved staying at the Comfort Inn! We usually pick Choice Hotels b/c we get points that we can use for our business. This Hotel has all the charm of any Boutique hotel. The entire staff was impressive! They went above and beyond their jobs. We Liked being close to P street restaurants and walking distance to Monuments/Museums.

Another day, Another trip, Another City. The journey today takes us to Washington DC, the current home of Mr. Obama no less. As with all of the journeys and or days they are split into various sections. This morning, we are off to Monticello, the home of Thomas Jefferson no less. The third president of the United States. Thomas Jefferson for those …

... the sun didn't go down until nearly 9pm, I can believe it! We made a rough plan for the next day, our only full day in DC. I promised Nan Rush that I'd go say g'day to JFK for her out at Arlington Cemetery, in Virginia (another state we managed to visit). It was breathtaking how many of those little white headstones thee were, all lined up in a military-like formation. The grounds were so well manicured, no wondered JFK said before his ...

... Whitehouse. A 20 -25 minute trek took us up to the gates. (2 – location was kind of a good point). Naturally we couldn’t get too close but made our way to the fences to see the house, or not. The thing with the White House is it’s white, really white – which doesn’t work too well in the snow. We were the only people there, only ones stupid enough to be out in the snow at this our, and as such Matt didn’t think it would be too much for Michelle ...

... we took a lovely drive from Maggie's home in Alexandria out the George Washington Parkway to Mt. Vernon, the home of our first president. The Mt. Vernon Ladies Association have managed and preserved this site since the 1850s. Besides touring the home itself, you can also visit the museum and gardens, the old family vault and the newer tombs of George and Martha, as well as the ...

  • unloaded the taxi on the street as he is not allowed to enter a parking garage (whatever!)
  • paid the taxi driver - mental arithmatic and tipping %'s are not Natalie's strong point
  • dragged our stuff down the parking garage ramp to claim our previously booked rental SUV
  • got talked into a slight upgrade and ended up with a kick ass SUV with lots of cool buttons and stuff (ie; we know the PSI of every tyre on the car)
