... are at a red light and turning right, you are allowed to go as long as you treat it as a stop sign and give way (yield). After talking to heaps of people about their time in the States we were quite surprised no one mentioned this bit of information because it has been quite key to getting around.
Sleeping and Eating
Stayed at the Howard Johnson in Torrence in LA. Was a good hotel with a nice breakfast and free wifi. Slightly far away from Hollywood.
... to be honest it pretty much flew past (pardon the intentional pun). The food was pretty good, but as always, there wasn't enough of it. Dinner was a chicken fillet type affair with veggies and brekkie was scrambled eggs and some bacon and we all know bacon is good.
We landed without flames and got through the whole customs and immigration process pretty quickly, then headed for the domestic terminal. ...
... and then another flight to Cairns where our tour begins. Somehow we lose Friday in this trip when we cross the International Dateline.
Anyway, we are under way. Hopefully we will have good WiFi connections and I can pick up the story in Cairns.
