Upon arrival the staff was unfriendly. I asked to change rooms due to our neighbor smoking outside. They asked why I wanted to change. I told them and he then asked the neighbor to smoke further away. The place was not full so they could easily have moved us. Just not a good experience. The A/C ran loudly and upon startup sound like a truck starting up. We stayed in Unit #2

... second fan we installed in front of the radiator had stopped working so we call in to an auto electrician whose shop is on the main road, to see what he can do. We stop at the Information Centre where they have run out ...

Had some problems with fridge staying cold whilst travelling, had to take the van to Mackay to an auto electrician for 3 days. They did a great job as all working well now.

Did a day trip to Eungella National Park overlooking Mackay a beautiful place to visit with easy rainforest walks. Saw a huge number of ferns high up in the trees.

... didn't hold our attention for very long. Now as planned we're parked in the huge fatigue stop-over site on the Bruce Highway, parked next to an area laid to lawn with gum trees stretching into the distance. Enticingly, there are notices around warning of the presence of Koalas, chance of seeing one is about zero, they sleep high up in grey trees all day digesting ...

... outskirts of the city where we had so heartlessly abandoned Wilson on Saturday, and nipped across the highway to see the now open mechanics. They were incredibly helpful and after initially coming across to see Wilson and check if they could actually fix him right there in the car park, they realised they couldn't and organised a tow across and have us a reasonable quote. If Wilson had broken down the other side of the highway, the same side as the mechanics, we could have saved ...
