Upon arrival the staff was unfriendly. I asked to change rooms due to our neighbor smoking outside. They asked why I wanted to change. I told them and he then asked the neighbor to smoke further away. The place was not full so they could easily have moved us. Just not a good experience. The A/C ran loudly and upon startup sound like a truck starting up. We stayed in Unit #2

... by this point slightly worried) Joe. He searched for a block of wood but couldn't find anything so between us we came up with an alternative plan, the tourist information was behind the petrol station and we could push Wilson into a parking space there without having to push him out onto the highway, so that's what we did, with an audience of incredibly unhelpful but seemingly amused people. I was sort of dreading that nights sleep, I'm not much of a camper and had been struggling to sleep since I got to Australia but that night and the one that followed were the best 2 nights sleep I've had since I arrived. I'm sure it was due to exhaustion and nothing to do with the goon. The second morning we got up and made scrambled eggs, I actually helped with the cooking for the one and only time...I was in charge of toast. Now I'm sure you're all thinking that's not exactly ...

The Matthews family has a Mackay sub branch after Uncle Geoff came this way to cut cane and decided to stay for a while..... That was 60 years ago. We left Airlie Beach to visit Family (Uncle Geoff and Aunty Cath) at Marian outside of Mackay. For those in the know Aunty Cath is fond of feeding people. We arrived at 11.00. The scones, fruit cake, Anzac biscuits, jam rolls, tea, coffee and cordial was rolled out at 11.05 much to the boys delight. After this huge morning tea we ...

... arriving. There will be plenty of cute baby animals now for the kids on Sundays farm tour. We had a BBQ with everyone tonight and Rob said that when we are settled back in Amamoor, they will give us one of their Berkshire sows to start our little farm. They said they will make sure she is pregnant and she can farrow(give birth) on our farm. How exciting! Our first animal for the farm! It could even possibly be little Peewee if she's ...

... local cricket/ football field/ Town hall.

We drove onto Sarina and camped up with Betty the landlord/lady of the Community Hall. We walked along the river flats and onto the beach at sunset. Just beautiful light and the end of another awesome day.
