Upon arrival the staff was unfriendly. I asked to change rooms due to our neighbor smoking outside. They asked why I wanted to change. I told them and he then asked the neighbor to smoke further away. The place was not full so they could easily have moved us. Just not a good experience. The A/C ran loudly and upon startup sound like a truck starting up. We stayed in Unit #2

We were up reasonably early so we could head out to Finch Hatton Gorge. First thing that had to be done was the Easter egg hunt. Shell and Chris his doggy chocolate all over the house with a big piece of bone for last. Of course Bas went straight to the last one and no matter where they put it he found it first.

After Chris cooking us bacon and eggs for breakfast we headed out to the gorge. This was the first time we had rain during the day and where the walk ...

... I get to pick the movie today because it is almost my Birthday" you get the picture, he couldn't have put it any better when he described Bridget's birthday as being "more like a festival than a birthday". Thankfully for us (and more so probably Paddy who has had to go second for about a month due the proximity of "her Birthday") the Festival is over for one more year.

... the trip was spent trying to cram enough clothes etc for three days into the worlds smallest day bag. Easier said than done. Free pancakes were for breakfast the following morning, rucksacks stored, and then we were given our food, the alcohol we ordered, fire wood, sleeping bags, another safety briefing and by 9.30am we were ready to go. It was a short drive to the ferry crossing, 15 minutes on a ferry and then we were on Fraser. Windows down, music blasting we cruised ...

... selling the same goods) - Grasstree Beach, Freshwater Point and Armstrong Beach were also very nice - lots of ritzy houses hidden away. We also checked out the coal loading facility at Hay Point - coal is trained into the port from the coal fields, unloaded and sorted and then loaded onto ships from two wharfs (one over a kilometre and the other over 3 kilometres long). There were at least 15 ships on ...

... Seaforth. Seaforth has a camp available there, with a fee, but we worked it out that by the time we paid the fee without power and water on the vans, we might as well travel further, and go to Mackay and stay at a caravan park and pay an extra $5.00 for the luxury. We booked into a park called, Premier Caravan Park. This is the smallest park we have stayed in. The amenitities are clean and staff very ...
