Not a very exciting travel day. Beautiful warm weather through Oklahoma and Missouri.

We even saw gasoline for $2.99 a gallon for the first time this trip! We haven't been stopping to sightsee on the way out as we have been on this Route 66 before. Our sightseeing will be in Utah.

Heard from Beth this evening and she is done …

I treat myself to a Bunderberg pink grapefruit soda and a cream soda with the iconic Route 66 logo printed on the bottle that I can keep :) absolutely random but I love it :) At around 12 we pulled up into the picnic park which had a cool map of Route 66 on the floor showing all the the famous sites and stop off of the route it also had some horrid duck creatures or swans/geese what ever they were, they were after my sandwich and I ...

It was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1965. It is located on State Highway 101, 7 miles (11 km) east of U.S. Highway 59 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Our daughter, Shawna's great-great grandfather on her dad's side was full blooded Cherokee.

... soda bottle out the front. They advertise that they have over 600 flavours of soda. Thankfully it's Sunday so our drive around Oklahoma City is easy as there is no traffic and we can take slow past the sites. It's a hot one today and most of what we want to see is visible from Harvey so we can stay in his air conditioning. Just down the road a bit is El Reno and an old Fort used by the soldiers during the time when they were fighting ...
