... there we took it easy and went to Rockford, IL in two days, about 95km. We couldn't find a warmshower host so we turned to couchsurfing. The next day we cycled to White Pine Forest State Park (60km, 37 miles). We met up with cousin John and his friends. We stayed a couple nights, tubed down the Rock river, had lots of fun!

Crossing into Illionois, the hay fields became corn fields for as far as you could see. I arrived in Dixon, Il home of Ronald Reagan and a wealth of history regarding him and Abe Lincoln.
