... at the Pebble Beach Lodge. What a wonderful view although a little obstructed. They were tearing down the buildings set up for the First Tee Tournament from this last weekend. What a beautiful day! And, then, onto Carmel to do a little shopping.

Saturday, September 14 - Today is the day we get to see Lilly! We left Sacramento and drove by Suisun Bay just northeast of Oakland and San Francisco, CA. This is where many of the Navy ships are left at anchor when they are de-commmissioned. It is called the Suisun Bay Ship Graveyard. Hard to believe these ships can't be used for something because there certainly are a lot of them!

I went to see the Beautiful Monterey Peninsula. It was clean, well run, and progressive. There is no stench like those of other fishing bays. No fish guts or flies festering on the hot sand beaches. The place was filled with restaurants, antique shops, and that kind of lot. ... in the sand, with at least a dozen people nearby to witness how this sand dune was kicking my butt. The guys helped me up and brushed me off. If I had been in their shoes, i would have grabbed the camera but I guess they didn't think of it. Before I reached the top I was crying in frustration and embarrassment and getting even more embarrassed because I was crying. It took a while to be able to laugh about the situation.
