October 4th DAY 18 LEAVING LAS VEGAS
We packed up and were ready to carry on with our journey to California. Less than a mile form the resort we were held up for 1 hour in traffic as there was an Ironman going on (grrr, we could have stayed longer at the resort). We got some laundry done in Las Vegas before we left and followed the i15 towards L.A. We didn’t anticipate cottage country traffic, and like cottage country traffic we really had no alternative, but ...

... and laughter all at once. We headed over to "Indian Jones Adventure". The boys didn't know who Indiana Jones was, so this ride was a bit of a surprise. Action packed. We travelled in a safari jeep. We dodged arrows, cliffs and baddies along with a massive boulder. This ride was awesome. Our last ride for the day was " Star Tours" a Four D ride with the Starwars characters. White knuckle ...

Hi - we all went for a tour to San Diego today. This took a few hours to get there which was ok because we were all tired from the Disney days. We went to some great spots in San Diego - this city is heavily navy focussed with a suburb called Coranardo which look just like to town out of top gun. We ended the day with a couple of hours shopping at the outlet shops right on the USA Mexico border. We could see Mexico from the shops. We bought some cheap shoes. Tomorrow we are off the Disney ...

... all obviously on Sunset Boulevard! We reached Griffith Park for our walk - it's a 4000 acre wilderness - lots of hills, valleys and green (although it looked pretty dry whilst walking round!) The observatory is a gorgeous Art Deco style building. We didn't go in as the plan was to enjoy the outside and go see the famous Hollywood sign! The sign is now a protected site, erected in 1923 it was originally there to advertise the Hollywoodland ...

... and we found a police station that was used in the TV series 'psych'. Then instead of our normal wraps and salad lunch break we stopped of at a proper Mexican restaurant. I was going to have some burrito type thing but I had no idea what half the stuff in it was so I played it safe and got a burger. Our last sightseeing stop was in Hollywood! We got to see the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the Hollywood sign and we went in a few ...
