When the pilot came on the radio as we made our way from Minneapolis to Atlanta -- the first of two layovers we had on our way to Santiago -- we knew we were in trouble. Something about route changes and …

Runaround in Atlanta

A travel blog entry by sedebrouillier

So, who would have thought that the trip to Nairobi would have the (hopefullY!) worst part happen getting out of frickin' Melbourne. After three delays due to poor visibility in ATL and many many assurances that we would be okay, we made it to the KLM gate for our flight to Amsterdam in time to have them tell us the door was already closed. A big hunk of granite

By the time we made our way back to the interstate to return to the campground, it was right in the middle of rush hour. I took us about 90 minutes to be back "home." It turned out to be a good day, not too hot and no rain. Tomorrow it's time to pack everything up and head for Texas!
