    ... picnic tables. "Picnic tables" seems to have been a bit of an exaggeration, but we did find one, and we sat down to enjoy our turkey and cheese and tomato sandwiches, only to have it start raining in earnest in about 10 minutes. We hoofed it back to the car, me still noshing on half a sandwich as we walked, and we finished our picnic from the front seat, watching the Canada Geese swimming happily around in the river.

    ... the score, and he was a Pirates’ run behind during the whole of the fourth inning rally, and didn’t actually catch up to the correct score until midway (I just inadvertently typed “madway,” which, under the circumstances, seems quite appropriate) through the Met half of the inning.) To be fair, it was rather difficult to keep track of the astonishing number of walks and wild pitches.

    In the end, we got to the campground at about 6:45, only to have to drive back into town (only 2 miles) to get firewood, as they don't sell it in the park. We ate dinner at 9:30, but we ate it—fire roasted sweet potatoes and grilled salmon with mango-tomato-jalapeno salsa. It was quite delicious.

    While Tim was getting the fire going, I toddled off to another part of the park ...

    Luckily the kids forget the pain quicky after the return, as they jump into the pool.

    In the afternoon we take Emily with us to Newport into the cinema to see "Inside out".
