    A very early morning start. Patti picked me up at 6:25 to drive me to the airport. Thanks to the generosity of Anna & Brad I have a very reduced rate Business Class Staff ticket on Qantas. The downside is that it is a standby ticket and until all passengers are checked in I won't know if I am on the flight Business or even Economy. Considering that I am a control freak and need everything pre-planned I have managed not to be too stressed out by the process. ...

    ... going on, so we stopped by there and watched the dancing and shopped in the historic Olvera Street area of LA. We had juicy burger, and I discovered a new croissant place, $1.50 for a croissant the size of your head! And then we cooked lots of meals at home too, pot roast and tacos and such. It was an awesome trip and I can't wait to go back at the end of the summer!

    The night air was refreshing and we kept on walking for a couple of hours. We eventually flagged a cab and headed back to the hotel. We wanted to stop at a pub but they close at 11 pm?!?! I couldn't believe it. The only places open later were nightclubs so we popped into one across the street from the hotel around 2am.

    ... in the sun at Venice and chatted to the locals. Nice and relaxed but beach wise not a patch on the aussie beaches. We got lost on the way back and ended up heading towards a few dodgy neighbourhoods from a number of the major rap songs.
