Forgot to post pictures of Arkansas in the previous post. Attached are pictures when we arrive in Arkansas and the roads we travelled. In addition, I posted pictures of the Lake Fort Smith State Park where we stayed. It was an awesome park...our #1 park throughout our travels.

          Hope everyone is well.

Next stop is Oklahoma and then into Texas.

Today we drove Route 40 from Amarillo, TX across Oklahoma to Alma, Arkansas. The scenery was about the same in each state - range lands for cattle - until we got to Arkansas. There, the Interstate was lined with trees and the divider in the middle was green grass. Nice to see green again, but now there are no vistas to admire. The old Route 66 weaves in and out ...

Shane had already got himself a cup of coffee and went and paid for our campsite since we got in too late the night before to check in. The state park had a little food cart (wait are we still in Portland?), so we grabbed some breakfast there. Biscuits and gravy for us both. We sat at the picnic table and enjoyed our ...

Well, today we stayed on Route #9, off the major highways, as is our plan. You see a lot more, that's for sure. But I felt like... ****? ...hell? ....like Linsay Lohan in rehab? like landing in a maximum security prison with Bubba?....don't know, just struggled. Usually I'm energetic, funny, full of sage observations (subject to other opinions), but today, somebody please SHOOT ME! Tomorrow, I'll bounce back.

... 8220;Their crew has all of the pluses of a family and none of the minuses.

The crew even splits the cost of the groceries they use, the furniture they sit on, the t.v.’s they watch, and their supplies. Even though they have T.V.’s and recliners, I’m not sure when they have a chance to enjoy them, though.

Captain Phil Christensen of the C-1 crew says during the weekdays they do 'Preplans.” The firefighters ...
