Wind farms lined the sides of interstate 40 through this prairie land. We breezed through Oklohoma City and towns with names like Onapa and Wewoka, and the reservations of Indian nations that I have never heard of, heading for the Arkansas line. Finally we reached some pretty grassland around Shawnee, Oklohoma. The highway ...

... been even crazier then me. It's actually pretty wild that I'm here, seeing as I almost quit 5 times in the first 20 minutes. If it wasn't for the day and a half ride, and even more so, the 20 dollars I'd spent on a guide book of this trail, I would have called it quits. The drive was exhausting. Today we drove Route 40 from Amarillo, TX across Oklahoma to Alma, Arkansas. The scenery was about the same in each state - range lands for cattle - until we got to Arkansas. Woke up in the morning around 8:00am, or at least Shane did. I stayed snuggled in the comfort of our tent until around 09:00am until I was ready to face the day. Shane had already got himself a cup of coffee and went and paid for our campsite since we got in too late the night before to check in. The state park had a little food cart (wait are we still in Portland?), so we grabbed some breakfast there. Biscuits and gravy for us both. We sat at the picnic table and enjoyed our ...

Well, today we stayed on Route #9, off the major highways, as is our plan. You see a lot more, that's for sure. But I felt like... ****? ...hell? ....like Linsay Lohan in rehab? like landing in a maximum security prison with Bubba?....don't know, just struggled. Usually I'm energetic, funny, full of sage observations (subject to other opinions), but today, somebody please SHOOT ME! Tomorrow, I'll bounce back.

    Not much to report ...
