... with our entry information - took our picture - luggage arrived - then found Kim at waiting area.
Told her Happy Birthday! She is 31 years old - on July 2nd. :-) (last year we celebrated in NY together - tonight - in Thailand)
Taxi driver was agitated - took 2 unnecessary toll roads - but finally - we made it to Kim's apartment.
Very nice - on 31st floor with awesome view of the city.
Collapsed and slept . . . :-)
Today we drove Route 40 from Amarillo, TX across Oklahoma to Alma, Arkansas. The scenery was about the same in each state - range lands for cattle - until we got to Arkansas. There, the Interstate was lined with trees and the divider in the middle was green grass. Nice to see green again, but now there are no vistas to admire. The old Route 66 weaves in and out ...
Woke up in the morning around 8:00am, or at least Shane did. I stayed snuggled in the comfort of our tent until around 09:00am until I was ready to face the day. Shane had already got himself a cup of coffee and went and paid for our campsite since we got in too late the night before to check in. The state park had a little food cart (wait are we still in Portland?), so we grabbed some breakfast there. Biscuits and gravy for us both. We sat at the picnic table and enjoyed our ...
Well, today we stayed on Route #9, off the major highways, as is our plan. You see a lot more, that's for sure. But I felt like... ****? ...hell? ....like Linsay Lohan in rehab? like landing in a maximum security prison with Bubba?....don't know, just struggled. Usually I'm energetic, funny, full of sage observations (subject to other opinions), but today, somebody please SHOOT ME! Tomorrow, I'll bounce back.

Chicken Piccata swimming in a lemon butter, wine sauce, and dressed with capers, along with a family style plate of chicken stuffed ravioli, spaghetti with homemade meatballs, chicken caccatore, and cannelloni stuffed with beaf, pork and spices. So, so good! And yes, family style equals Happy style.
