... the expanse of this hotel. There is no way that I could have backed up far enough to get that shot without crossing the river. This place is HUGE!!!! The internet says it has well over 600 rooms. We walked around the boardwalk in front of the hotel and enjoyed the views of the river and roofs of houses below. And I had a sudden urge to call my parents and tell them I had returned, but of course that is now impossible.

... but it meant that my children would not be the noisy ones. I breathed a huge sigh of relief and thanked God, as I had spent the morning praying for my children's behaviour for the train trip. The kids got off at the very first station, but I think it put me in a calm mood which relaxed my children. Adalia even slept for most of the journey. The train travelled so slowly. ... in the last half hour of the five hour trip. Mainly I played Suduko. I slept for about half an hour. We stopped off at a pitstop to fill the car up with petrol and eat the pre-made lunches I made this morning.
All in all, it was an easy five-and-a-half-hour drive that went smoothly and without any real incidents to report. The weather was over cast, but did not rain. Not too hot, and not too cold.

At 3pm we were joined by Stephanie and Damien (my niece and her fiancé) who marched us up Mont-Royal to view Montréal from above, and down around the beaver lake to a lovely wine bar on Avenue Parc where we chatted and shared a glass of wine or two. We only ever see Stephanie in international cities - Paris, New York, Montreal! ...

Pink sang all of our favourites. We were not disappointed at all. Some of our favourite songs are: Raise Your Glass, Try and So What. It was also the first time we heard Just Gimme A Reason - We loved it!
