For the second year in a row we beat the winter storm out of Canada by 24 hours. We bid Niagara on the Lake farewell Monday morning and drove through to Fort Chiswell by 6:30 just a few hours ahead of the Arctic ice blast. The weather network advised us to be out of town by noon to avoid ice and snow, so we started out early and outran the weather …

We had a sleep in...hoorah! OK, so it was only until just after 7.30, but we'll take it. And we were greeted by rain. A downpour. It was rather nice after 5 weeks of almost no rain at all. Of course, I had to make a to do list for where to go on the next trip. Most of them are restaurants such as One Hot Mama's, Up the Creek Pub and Grill, and Wiseguys. I also want to do the Salty Dog Cafe Happy Hour Crusie.

... body and layed right on top of them. I guess this is one way to get cooled off. After a great afternoon of hanging out at our private beach house it was time to head back to reality and rest in the condo. I will always remember the little taste of heaven where we had a light breeze off the ocean, the smell of sea in the air, and the ease of having the beach at your fingertips but the luxury of pool as your primary attraction.
