The New Zealand part of our journey started with a great flight on Air New Zealand (We managed to fly first class here as well). The wine flowed, and the food was amazing. That was our last port of call in New Zealand - we're now en route to the Pacific islands. We enjoyed our time in New Zealand, last year and this year, and will definitely go back. It's a beautiful country, with great facilities, and the people are very friendly.
Dropped off the van and got taxi into Auckland, a very different city compared to anything else we have seen in NZ. A large city that could be anywhere in the world but has a lovely harbour and the Sky Tower. I must agree with friend Geoff and Jacqui, Wellington is a far lovelier city. ... and thither and pottering in small towns before a longer walk to end the day, this down to Cathedral Cove, with its arched cavern, white sand and crystal waters. Having got used to the life in a Recreational Vehicle we spent the night at another car park about a 45 minute walk above the Cove.
