The New Zealand part of our journey started with a great flight on Air New Zealand (We managed to fly first class here as well). The wine flowed, and the food was amazing. The pods were even better than Air Canada's, the entertainment system worked better, and the gps was easier to use. We hardly had time to watch any tv though, we were too busy …

We got a Nine o'clock start and took the scenic drive along the coast. It was a picturesque road wending along mountains which fringed the coast. It reminded us of the Great Ocean Road. There ...

... Reminded us a little of the 12 Apostles that we saw earlier in Australia. Gorgous seascapes with a healthy surf crashing on and washing rocks. An interesting phenomenon was the flocking of Gannet birds that took over entire rocky spaces.

Then back to the house where we spent the rest of the day. It's been good getting better acquainted with Daniel and ...

A glorious morning, although we just missed the sunrise but time to take in the amazing views from my nephew's house, it is easy to see why people emigrate, I just wish it were easier to visit them! After seeing the kids off to school we sit and chat before heading down to Brown's Bay to the Beach cafe for a scrumptious breakfast with my nephew and niece before walking round the town looking at the changes since our last visit 3 ...
