      Sure enough, Main Street feels more like some yuppie California town, with yoga bookstores, outdoor cafes and incense shops--as well as a very lively music scene it seems. In fact, right overlooking the river, three boys are playing an acoustic set as their mother (I think) does a video of them.

      ... is particularly diverse. There are a couple of small, stern neo-classical structures right on the main intersection. Then you have various Victorian style homes and buildings with their rounded or half-onion domed turrets... you've got some 15 churches all with their distinct style--the roughly hewn stone churches I like the best, as they remind me of the villages around Edinburgh, Scotland...

      ... the Bronx, past Queens and across the Hudson River to get views of New York City. Paul pointed out the new Freedom Tower that sits where the World Trade Centre Twin Towers once stood.

      Today we travelled through the states of New York, New Jersey, Philadelphia in Pennsylvania, crossing the Delaware River into Delaware and Maryland to get to John and Sharon's place in Virginia.

      It is raining today so we are pleased to not be on the bike and be chauffer driven around wineries. We decide to stay out for dinner and John & Shazza take us to Hunters Head Pub where we have Fish and Chips, Beef Guinness Stew and Shepherds Pie - really good food.
