We loved this anchorage. Under-rated in the guide books. we swam; went ashore
and have great sunset and sunrise moments. This will be our last night in North Carolina, tomorrow we start our tour of South Carolina.

... that got us away from camp today.

        8/17/15 - Monday

A 345 mile, 6+ hr. drive today to Hampton, VA to stay at the Colonies RV & Travel Park at Ft. Monroe which is on a very historic peninsula . We passed thru Mt. Olive, the Pickle Capital and drove past fields of tobacco and peanuts. The trip along and under the Monitor-Merrimac Memorial Bridge Tunnel was spectacular.

We'll be camped here when we fly to Branson to celebrate our aunt's 90th ...

In North Carolina we stayed in the lovely town of Wilmington which is situated on Cape Fear River. The surrounding estuaries and tidal lagoons team with lovely wildlife and the town itself is home to the Museum of Bizarre which Bella and Freddie loved. See pictures. Next brief stop Williamsburg ...
