    ... And thanks for coming to visit with us…we loved catching up!

    As we said in an earlier post, it's really the friends that you meet throughout your life that makes the journey so fun. Major Laura Taylor is one of those people. We met at RAF Mildenhall while flying KC-135s in England. Thanks Laura for meeting us out in the heat at a playground, so we could let the kids stretch their legs. Tomorrow, more friends and more adventures.

    The call of home was getting stronger, but we mostly stuck to our travel plans, stopping in our planned places the last few days. From San Antonio, traveled to Lake Charles, LA and the next day on to Mobile, stopping in Selma along the way.     We left the Courtyard Marriott, caught the metro one stop to Union Station. Checked the luggage in for our Amtrak to Wilson, North Carolina. Why there, you ask? This is where Liv spends the next 3 months as a camp counsellor at a Girl Scout summer camp. Liv had a few days off and spent them in Washington with Karen and I.     Beautiful morning for coffee on the deck... and then a 40-mile drive west to Ron's house in between Selma and Kenly.
