... The houses remind me so much of the notebook & saw the actual movie theatre that Noah & Allie went to and laid in the road by! We drove down by the waterfront & the houses were insane!!! Massive ones with columns out the front and giant patios. Such a beautiful place! Would love to have stayed longer but we had lunch there at a water front restaurant which was so fresh & tasted so good. Then we wandered through the markets until we had to go ...

Camping on the beach in 90 degree plus weather is about as awesome as it sounds. In all honesty, while sleeping was a little rough, the night was actually fantastic. The call of home was getting stronger, but we mostly stuck to our travel plans, stopping in our planned places the last few days. From San Antonio, traveled to Lake Charles, LA and the next day on to Mobile, stopping in Selma along the way. I feel like we have seen so much of our USA civil rights history in the making as we followed much of the trail of Martin Luther ...

... I find it funny when people ask me, "well aren't you nervous!?" as if that is even of question. Of course I'm nervous, but it doesn't stop me. Not like it would if I were taking part in skydiving per say. You can ship me to a developing country any day of the week, but you won't catch me jumping out a plane for any amount of money in the world. So, I guess that draws a hard line between a 'good' nervous and a ...

Beautiful morning for coffee on the deck... and then a 40-mile drive west to Ron's house in between Selma and Kenly. This area is on the edge of North Carolina's Sandy Lowlands and was a prime tobacco growing region. Ron's family has lived in this area for generations. His great-grandparents' original 1880's home and other ...
